It was not easy, but, for a few things that was done, barriers existed. As much as you know about a subject, as much as you have lived in some specific place, retracting demands describing and reliving habits.

The project A incrível e Fantástica história da mãe dos filhos da sobrevivência ou A peleja do Sertanejo com a vida e com a Morte ou Olhares sobre os Sertões Pernambucanos – Looking Through the Backwoods of Pernambuco was a fright. A fright to raise, maybe from redemption or to punish or to redeem from an unknown or not confirmed past.

December, 2001 – the re(discovery). To create the first part of this project it was necessary 7 months (from December 2001 to June 2002), a suffered and simple discertation that talks about our companions, the backwoodsman.

In this part of the project Euclides da Cunha’s classic gave support to represent the backwoods of Pernambuco. Some strategies were suggested to students, ex-students and professors of Social Communication Department of Unicap, to develop the other sub-projects to complete “Looking through the backwoods of Pernambuco”. This project was shown from November 25th to December 13rd ,2002.

The second part of the project started in April, 2003 and it was named Looking through the others. The objective of this second part was rescue the subprojects that were not shown in the first part, as well as new papers from the new people that joined the project. The second part was shown from 18th to 29th of August.
It was proposed to the Catholic University of Pernambuco an editorial product in July,2003. The third part of this project was named “Bow Unicap’s editorial out look”.

Apart from the three parts of “ Olhares…” a paper was created to pay tribute to Luiz Gonzaga – Baião’s King and to update the Center Library Collection about backwoods and backwoodsman – Special Collection/ Baião’s King.
